Antarctica
The name "Antarctica" comes from the ancient
Greek name -Antarktikos- which means opposed the Bear Arktos; The
great Bear , the constellation above North Pole. Greek were thinking that the
Earth was a sphere and then it was logical that a Earth mass was present in the
South to compensate the one in the North. Later on cartographers named
this unknown continent , Terra Australis Incognita.

Starting from Ushuaia , then stop in Puerto
Williams in Chile to get paper work, we wil sail down to Hershell and stand by
for a good weather forecast to start the Draike passage crossing. Then you
have choice between the paradises!
The photographer's, the sailor's, the adventurer's, the mountaineer's.
The most difficult being to conciliate the paradises. Almost the most.
Because more than that; is the return , some days tacking in
the roaring fifties latitudes below Cap Horn.

But you all know, the most difficult, really
the most terrible is under a steady, boring rain, the deadly low climbing of the
Vélizy freeway in the Monday morning traffic jam. Miles of car in front,
behind, right and left, and no way to escape. The hill is higher than the
highest wave we ever met and will never meet. We are not sure to reach the
top; but the boat always reaches the top of the next wave. Thus the real
distress : to try to climb this immobile slope for ever without never seeing an
enormous wave!
God dam! Don't miss essential things because
we are afraid!
